Director of Adult Education

Sr. Joanne Bauer, CSC, is the Director of Adult Education/Formation at St. Paul Newman Center. Adult Education nurtures one’s spiritual life through faith-sharing, workshops, retreats, Adult Sacrament Preparation, and by welcoming returning Catholics through Landings.

Joanne enjoys being a Sister of the Holy Cross and ministering at St. Paul Newman Center. This native San Franciscan is proud of growing up in Fresno and attending St. John’s, St. Therese’s and San Joaquin Memorial, as well as teaching at Memorial. Joanne has an MA in Pastoral Ministry from University of San Francisco, an MA in American Literature from Notre Dame, a BA in English from St. Mary’s College, ND. Joanne also has certification in Spiritual Direction from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Prior to coming to St. Paul Newman Center, Joanne was rectress at Cavanaugh Hall, Notre Dame; campus minister at USC and UT Catholic Center in Austin, TX; Dean of Women at St. Francis High School, and taught in high schools and grade schools
