After you total all the columns on your tally sheet, circle the three with the highest score. Here is where your talent lies:

  1. Administration - organizing events, rounding up volunteers to accomplish a task, accounting, parish council, seeing goals and being able to organize to meet those goals.

  2. Artistic expression - music, art, singing, dance in liturgy; concerts, painting, crafts that may or may not be parish-related.

  3. Communicating - through a parish newsletter, website, sending relevant faith material to parish family, talking about the faith to groups.

  4. Compassion/Mercy - visitng the sick, hospitalized, shut-ins; bereavement groups; assistance to those in need, whether emotional, physical or spiritual.

  5. Counseling - talking with those who have a burden; spiritual direction; advising various groups on life directions (i.e. teenagers, newly married, newly retire, widowed.)

  6. Craftsmanship - using your hands and abilities to create or maintain so that the work of the parish or other groups can be enhanced. Also teaching others your skills.

  7. Encouragement - offering help and support to others who are having a physical, material, or spiritual problem; being a loving presence for those suffering.

  8. Giving - being generous and available when special material needs arise in parish or community so that God's work might be done.

  9. Helping - assisting whoever needs help, be it in the office, in kitchen, special ministries, babysitting.

  10. Hospitality - welcoming at parish events or liturgies, welcoming newcomers. Providing food for parish events, for funerals. Providing food, fellowship, shelter.

  11. Intercessory Prayer - praying alone or with a group for the needs of parish, parishioners, community.

  12. Leadership - taking responsibility for collaborative leadership of established or newly created ministries. Having a vision and encouraging others to assist in accomplishing tasks for the good of the parish family and community.

  13. Pastoring/Shepherding - being a small group leader, visint in home or hospital or jail and providing a religious presence and leading them closer to God; helping others to deep;en their faith.

  14. Social ministry/Peace-making - working to alleviate social ills and redress injustices; working on peace issues within the community and in the world; creating peaceful alternatives.

  15. Service - being available to serve in whatever capacity the situation requires.

  16. Teaching - teaching in religious education classes or in other capacities outside a normal parish curriculum so that others might know and have a relationship with God.

  17. Uncharted New Ministries - seeing needs in parish or community, finding ways to address them and then helping to make that ministry a reality, both in terms of resources and people.
