Sunday Masses: March 8 & 9
Weekday Masses March 10-12
- Monday, March 10: the Woman at the Well - 7-9pm in St. Paul Newman Center Chapel
On his way to Jerusalem, Jesus stopped at Jacob’s Well in Samaria. While the disciples went off
to get some supplies, he waited there and encountered a woman. They were both thirsty –
both in need of water – both looking for something deeper than a well. Their encounter
reminds us that frequently we all thirst for something more than water.
- Tuesday, March 11: a Man Born Blind- 7-9pm in St. Paul Newman Center Chapel
Once he arrived in Jerusalem, Jesus met a man born blind and others who
were convinced they could see clearly. His encounter with them changed them all, as the
blind man gained new sight, and those with vision were blinded by their predetermined
understanding of who they were and who Jesus was. Their encounter reminds us that we
are all blind at times, and all need to have our eyes opened.
- Wednesday, March 12: a Friend called Lazarus- 7-9pm in St. Paul Newman Center Chapel
Before his own death, he stood at a tomb and called to his dead
friend, “Lazarus, come out.” Then he told those who had gathered to untie
him and let him go free. This encounter reminds us that at times we are all
sitting in our stinking tombs, waiting to be called out and set free from
what keeps us from living life to the fullest.
